American Concrete Institute Case StudyAmerican Concrete Institute (ACI) engaged Clean Green Energy (CGE) to make recommendations for energy savings at their Farmington Hills, Michigan location. During the audit process, CGE found that the majority of the facility was fairly efficient but there were opportunities for savings by changing to induction lighting for the exterior light poles and by switching exterior wall packs to new T-5 fixtures.

CGE also discovered that the Shipping/Receiving and Warehouse areas were not efficient with their existing 250 watt metal halide fixtures. CGE was able to change out these fixtures to new 2’x4’, 6-lamp T-8 fixtures, thus generating savings for the area and improving the quality of lighting in the shelving area; much to the delight of the workers in that area.

Briarwood Ford needed to find ways to make their building more efficient, upgrade their outdated lighting system and avoid frequent lamp and ballast failure. The existing lighting system was outdated and inefficient. Office lighting in the facility was mainly T12 fluorescent. Service areas were lit by high and low bay metal halide fixtures. There were numerous incandescent lamps being used throughout the facility. Utility cost for lighting was high. In addition many of the lamps and ballasts were being phased out due to government regulation.

MHT Housing is one of the largest non-profit housing companies in the state of Michigan with over 5,800 units within the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit Program.

MHT was looking for ways to save energy and reduce lighting maintenance costs in their multi-family properties. These included high rise facilities and apartment complexes. Each property was unique and presented different challenges to achieve MHT's goals.
